Soumaya T. Hamdi, CEO & Managing Director of Halal Travel Guide, participated with Halal Economy colleagues at the 2023 Halal Business Forum in Zagreb, Croatia. Ms Hamdi shared why it is essential to create immersive travel experiences that support local people and that allow travellers to develop a direct, authentic connection with the destination and its people.
Writing on Instagram, Soumaya said about the event:
What I love about the Halal Business Forum – and Zagreb in general – is how people are working together, irrespective of their faith, to bring about better, more valuable business practices for all.
This gathering was nothing short of enlightening, bringing together thought leaders from over 30 countries to deliberate on the intersection of halal businesses and the circular economy. 🌍
I am truly honoured to have been invited as a speaker at the 3rd edition of the Halal Business Forum Croatia in Zagreb.
The key takeaways? The need for standardised halal certification, investing in people through Islamic banking, and my personal passion and endeavour, the power of storytelling in halal travel.
A huge thank you to Aldin Dugonjić, Edina Mesic and all the organisers for making this event possible, and for inviting me to participate. And a special thank you to all the speakers who generously shared their knowledge, including my fellow panelists Dr.Hj. Zuraimi Jumaat , Karim Benvenuto , Agnieszka Puszczewicz and moderator Ivana Karanikic.
Focusing on the issues most relevant to today’s global halal industry, Halal Business Forum is designed to stimulate new thinking and inspire action, while providing a unique networking environment to connect qualified buyers with manufacturers and tourism stakeholders.
