The speakers emphasised the importance of embracing trends such as diversification, leveraging modern technologies, and prioritizing sustainability to tap into this booming market. Bosnia and Herzegovina showcased its remarkable potential to become a major player in halal tourism.
Soumaya T. Hamdi, the founder and CEO of Halal Travel Guide (UK) emphasized that “halal tourism is booming, and countries are picking up on this. Therefore, it’s not enough to just assume tourists will come because they know there are halal facilities. We really have to work on building a competitive edge!”
Soumaya continued to express her confidence in Bosnia’s potential for Halal Tourism:
“I sincerely believe that Bosnia has every ingredient to become the top halal European destination in a market that is estimated to be worth more than $300 billion, and it is amazing to see the rapidly growing number of stakeholders who are now striving to make this happen.”
