Mostar: Halal restaurants

In Travel Guide by Soumaya

You will be spoilt for choice for halal restaurants in Mostar. Many restaurants serve halal meals – you only need to ask the waiter if there is ‘halal’ to know. Enjoy warming soups, flaky pastries (bourek) and flavoursome chicken. We have shared  below some halal restaurants we would recommend you try during your visit:

Motel Rosa (we recommend their creamy begova corba)

This restaurant is fully halal according to the staff, although they do serve alcohol on the premises.

Address: Onešćukova, Mostar 88000, Bosnia and Herzegovina – found on the east side of the Old Town.

Urban Grill (for a view of the Old Bridge)

The food was good, although not some of the best we ate in Mostar. This view however is unbeatable.

Address: Mostar 88000, Bosnia and Herzegovina – on the western side of the Old Town.

Hindin Han (great reputation as one of the best local restaurants)

Address: Jusovina, Mostar 88000, Bosnia and Herzegovina – east side of the Old Town.

Zdrava Voda (reputation of serving excellent lamb)

Address: Mostarska, Jablanica 88420, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Old Mill  (for the view)

Address: Silvija Strahimira Kranjcevica bb, Stolac 88360

Blagaj Tekke

A number of restaurants are located here – just ask if they are halal, most of which are. We also recommend the locally farmed salmon and trout, as the water from the river Buna is said to be one of the purest in Europe.
